She has been active with volleyball, basketball and softball at Heritage Christian Academy, and she was a part of the first KHSAA regional championship team at HCA when the Lady Warriors volleyball team claimed the 2024 2nd Region title. But Lexi Lyon is far more than just what she has accomplished in athletic competition and it is those things combined with what she has done on the court and on the field that make her another great representative as a Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’

Lexi, who has been a student at Heritage Christian, for five years, is rocking it in the classroom. She holds a 4.06 GPA with All A honor roll and is ranked at the top of her class.

With her work in the classroom, Lexi was named as a 2025 Governor’s Scholar. The Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program is a highly competitive, free, five-week residential summer program for Kentucky high school juniors. It focuses on providing academic and personal growth through a combination of liberal arts coursework, extracurricular activities, and service projects at three different college campuses.

The program aims to develop leadership skills, encourage critical thinking, and foster a sense of community responsibility among academically talented students. Students participate in in-depth classes, engage in service projects, and participate in clubs, discussions, and lectures.

This year, Lexi participated in the Hopkinsville Youth Leadership program. Youth Leadership is a program that gives high school students from the area a chance to learn more about the different aspects of daily life in Christian County, such as hospitals, Fort Campbell and how they conduct military programs, as well as the Christian County Justice Center and the Christian County Jail.

Each month had a different day where students traveled from place to place exploring the different places that fit into a certain category of employment.

Lexi is extensively involved in her school community at Heritage Christian Academy. Her long list of activities includes serving as vice president of the Key Club. Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership. Members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities and learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects, and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district, and international levels.

She has also been involved with the Kentucky Youth Assembly. KYA is an expanded, educational opportunity in which students serve as part of a model state government. It offers students the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of issues, develop critical thinking skills, and articulate their beliefs while engaging constructively with their peers from around the Commonwealth.

Lexi’s list of activities doesn’t end there. Her school involvement also includes, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society. Beta, Interact, Student Ambassadors, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and serving as secretary of the Student Council.

Somehow, Lexi has also found time to volunteer for projects like working with the National Honor Society for their involvement in the Christmas Parade, doing a Challenge House workday with the Spanish Honor Society, involvement with the Joy Closet, and the Timeless Hearts Spring Festival.

She has even been a sound and tech person for drama productions at Heritage Christian Academy.

As for her future, Lexi plans to go to the University of Kentucky and then pursue her law degree. And, with this outstanding young lady, you have no doubt that she will make all of that happen.

No doubt about it, Lexi Lyon is another great example of the many outstanding young athletes around the area and another great example of a Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’
