This week’s Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ for the week of May 5 is Christian County’s Sebastian Dazey. Sebastian was selected based on his play in the Colonels’ important 6-0 district win over the Hopkinsville Tigers Friday night.
The win allowed the Colonels to lock up the top seed for the 8th District tournament.
In addition to his play on defense at third base, Dazey finished the game going 2-4 at the plate with two RBIs.
Dazey drove in a run with a single in the bottom of the second that made it 4-0. He then added an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 5-0.
For the season, as of Tuesday morning, he is batting .342 with two home runs and 11 RBIs.
The Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ is selected each week from one of the five schools in Christian County (Christian County, Hopkinsville, University Heights, Christian County, and Fort Campbell) based on their performance in a big game or event for their team that week.
