Madisonville-North Hopkins and Marshall County couldn’t be separated over a shortened six-inning game on Monday, finishing in a 5-5 stalemate.
The Lady Maroons raced out to a 4-0 lead in the third after an RBI single by Sydney Skeen and Maggie Killough’s run-scoring double, and they made it 5-0 when Mackenzie Stoltz singled in a run in the fourth.
However, after the Lady Marshalls got a run back in the fifth, a four-run sixth tied the game before play was suspended.
Marshall County loaded the bases on a walk and two hit-by-pitches before a wild pitch and a Lady Maroon error allowed two runs to cross. Elin Denfip followed with a two-run double to cap the scoring.
Sadie Kirk allowed five runs, three earned, on three hits with three walks and five strikeouts for the Lady Maroons.
Stoltz finished with three hits, Bryanna Harris was 2/3, and Skeen and Killough each drove in two runs for Madisonville.
The Lady Maroons improved to 21-8-1 ahead of a trip to Union County on Tuesday.
