Maroons Win 5th Straight by Taking Care of Henderson

Don’t look now but that could the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons rapidly approaching in your rear view mirror. The Maroons got big games from Alex Richards, Lane Faulk, Evan Lear, and Brantley Harris as they handled the Henderson County Colonels Tuesday evening 7-1 at Elmer Kelley Stadium.

Harris was locked in on the mound for the Maroons. He went the distance against the Colonels, giving up just the one run in the top of the third, on five hits, striking out four, and walking just one.

The Maroons jumped on Henderson early, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first. Alex Richards and Lane Faulk had the big hits in the inning.

After Henderson cut the lead to 3-1 in the top of the third, the Maroons dropped the hammer in the bottom half of the inning, scoring four times to run the lead out to 7-1. Evan Lear and Lane Faulk did a chunk of the damage in the inning.

Alex Richards finished 1-3 with 2 RBIs. Lane Faulk was 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Evan Lear ended up 2-3 with 2 RBIs.

Madisonville-North Hopkins improves to 18-11 with the win.
