
A tough trip to Calhoun Tuesday evening for the Dawson Springs Lady Panthers. McLean County put up runs in each inning as the Lady Cougars roared to a 21-6 four-inning win.
McLean County had 11 hits and took opportunities off five Lady Panther errors in the game.
The Lady Panthers took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Kalyn Cotton had an RBI single that got the rally started.
McLean County got one of the runs back in the bottom half of the first and then the Lady Cougars grabbed the game and ran off with 8 runs in the bottom of the second to make it 9-3.
Dawson Springs got a couple of runs in the top of the third to trim the lead to 9-5. Kalyn Cotton again had the big hit in the inning with an RBI double.
McLean County ended any thoughts of a Lady Panthers comeback by scoring six runs in the bottom of the inning and, after Dawson scored a single run in the top of the fourth, McLean County ended the game with six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to reach the 15-run rule.
Kalyn Cotton was 2-2 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Lady Panthers. Katie Blanchard had the other hit for Dawson Springs.
