Seventeen ‘free passes’ was a bit much for the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers to overcome Thursday evening on the road across town at Heritage Christian. The Lady Warriors scored nine runs in the bottom of the first inning on their way to a 13-3 five-inning 8th District win over the Lady Blazers.
UHA pitching gave up 13 walks and 4 hit batters over the course of the five innings. HCA also outhit the Lady Blazers 4 to 3.
The Lady Warriors scored twice more in the second inning to push the lead out to 11-0.
Hadlee Hayes, Kailyn Johnson, Madison Warren, and Kynlee Henderson had one hit each for the Lady Warriors. Warren also had three RBIs.
Katherine Wood, Emily Dilday, and Brooke Hancock had one hit each for the Lady Blazers.
Heritage Christian Academy finishes the regular season at 6-8.
University Heights ends the regular season at 4-7.
