Now that is what you call finishing the regular season on a positive note. The Christian County Lady Colonels closed out the 2025 softball regular season by sweeping a pair of games at home Saturday over Logan County. The Lady Colonels won the opener in 4-3 in extra innings and then made short work of the second game by winning 11-1 in five innings.

In the opener, Jazzy Tejada was hit with a pitch with the bases loaded to force across the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. The Lady Colonels scored the tying run earlier in the inning on a Logan County error after the Lady Cougars had taken a 3-2 lead in the top of the 8th.

The game opened as if it might be a shootout. Logan County scored two runs and had the bases loaded with no outs in the top of the first. However, Christian County got two force outs at home and ended the inning with grounder to the pitcher to stay within two runs.

B.B. Rodriguez drove in a run in the bottom of the first to cut the lead to 2-1 and it appeared a high-scoring game was underway. But, turned out that was not the case as the two pitchers settled in for the rest of the game.

Avery Adcock pulled Christian County even with a home run to left with two outs in the bottom of the fourth.

Adcock finished the opening game 2-3 with the home run, an RBI, and two runs scored. Chloe Almy and B.B. Rodriguez added two hits each as the top three batters in the Lady Colonel order accounted for all six of the Christian County hits.

Jordan Turner went all 8 innings in the circle to pick up the win.

The second game saw Christian County break open a 1-1 game with six runs in the bottom of the second and then three more runs in the bottom of the third on their way to the 10-run win.

Avery Adcock, in her final regular season home game, hit her second home run of the day as part of a 3-3 effort. She had two RBIs and scored 4 runs.

B.B. Rodriguez also left the yard. She finished 2-3 with 4 RBIs and two runs scored. Jazzy Tejada hit a home run and drove in three for the Lady Colonels.
