The Trigg County Lady Wildcats finished out the regular season Saturday with a pair of games against contenders from their respective regions. The Lady Wilcats began the day with a shutout win over Marshall County and then finished up with an 11-1 loss to 2024 state semifinalist South Warren. Both games were played at Marshall County.
In the first game of the day, Tember Oliver locked down the Marshall County offense, holding the Lady Marshal offense to just two hits as Trigg County took a 3-0 win.
Trigg County scored single runs in the second, fourth, and seventh innings to get the win.
The Lady Wildcats outhit Marshall County 11 to 2 with 8 different Trigg County batters getting at least one hit. MaKenna Hendricks, Madilynn Smith, and EmmaLee Futrell had two hits each for Trigg. Lily Eagleson was 1-4 with a home run.
Tember Oliver went the distance in the circle, striking out three and walking three.
Things did not go quite as well against the Lady Spartans in the second game of the day. South Warren scored seven runs in the bottom of the second and then closed out the game with four runs in the bottom of the sixth to get the 10-run win.
Trigg County’s only run came in the top of the fourth inning. Jayden Visengardi hit a one-out sac fly with the bases loaded to score Livia Breckel, cutting the South Warren lead to 7-1.
South Warren outhit Trigg County 11 to 4 over the six innings.
Livia Breckel, Kady Fuller, Madilynn Smith, and Jayden Visengardi had one hit each for Trigg County.
Addy Holley and Lilly Eagleson split time in the circle for the Lady Wildcats.
