Madisonville’s Trashaun Smith took home three first-place medals and further etched his name into the school record book at Thursday’s Class 3A Region 1 Meet at McCracken County.
Smith took first place in the high jump (6-2), long jump (22-5), and triple jump (48-10.5). The senior twice beat his school record in the triple jump with his first leap measuring 48 feet, followed by a 48 feet, 10.5 inch mark. Despite the wet and windy conditions, Smith extended his school mark by over 20 inches.

Not only was Smith’s jump a school record, but it also bettered the 39-year-old region meet record set by Paducah Tilghman’s Michael Stone at 47-5.
