Colonels Run Past Heritage Christian into District Title Game

The Christian County Colonels put up double digits in the first inning and kept on rolling Monday night, right on into the 8th District championship game. The Colonels scored 10 in their first at-bat and went on to take a 16-0 3-inning win over Heritage Christian Academy.

The Colonels outhit the Warriors 6 to 1 and took advantage of three HCA errors and seven walks on the way to the district title game.

After scoring 10 in the bottom of the first, the Colonels added six more in the bottom of the second.

Gage Montes led Christian County, going 2-2 with a double, three RBIs, and three runs scored. Sebastian Dazey, Blake Boehman, Layton Creamer, and Thad Tolliver had one hit each for Christian County.

Heritage Christian’s only hit of the game came off the bat of Jayden Nichols.

Andrew Fincham pitched all three innings to get the win for Christian County. He gave up just one hit, striking out four and walking one.

Heritage Christian’s season ends with a record of 7-17.

Christian County improves to 15-13 and advances on to the 8th District championship game to face University Heights.

The game is scheduled for Tuesday evening at 6pm.
