Heritage Christian Athletics Director Matt McGowan announced on Monday morning that Will Bruce will be the next head coach of their volleyball program. He previously served as assistant coach for HCA before moving to Nashville, where he coached volleyball at multiple levels.
Grace Stewart stepped down as the head coach after four seasons with the team. She coached HCA to a 24-6 record in 2024, which ultimately led them to the first Region 2 title in the school’s history.
She resigned for family reasons, as she anticipated the birth of her second child at the time. As a result, that left HCA in need of a new coach for their successful volleyball program.
Bruce will be looking to continue the success that Stewart and the rest of the team had in 2024, which will be no smalL task, given the fact that they won a Region 2 title in just their second season KHSAA volleyball.
As for who will be on his roster this coming season, the team only lost one senior, and they have a solid middle school program with players coming in.
