Caldwell County Sweeps Senior Night Track Meets

The Caldwell County track teams won their own Senior Night meet last Tuesday at Tiger Stadium in Princeton.

Caldwell’s boys totaled 182 team points to outdistance runners-up Trigg County and University Heights Academy, which each had 85 points.

Caldwell’s girls had 160 points while runner-up Trigg had 93. UHA was just one point behind Trigg to take third in the eight-team competition.

For the guys, Caldwell won the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400-meter relays — and set some new school records in the process.

The 4×200 team of Gus Fox, Xzavier Lee, Tre Copeland and Shane Fairrow set a school record with a time of 1:31.14.

The 4×400 squad of Elijha Kirby, Fox, Copeland and Lee also established a new school mark with a time of 3:32.33.

Cooper Mobley won both the shot put and the discus. He had a distance of 49 feet, 5.5 inches in the shot put and 139 feet, 6.75 inches in the discus.

Fairrow won the 200-meter dash in 23.03 seconds.

Colson Mattocks took the long jump at 20 feet even.

Jackson Risley claimed the triple jump at 37 feet, 10 inches.

For Caldwell’s girls, Benashka Thomas won the triple jump at 31 feet, 3 inches, and also took the shot put at 33 feet, 10.5 inches.

Brilee Hubbard won the 200-meter dash in 28.37 seconds.

Audrey McCoy took the high hump competition at 4 feet, 10 inches.

Addison Middleton-Mobley won the long jump at 14 feet, 11 inches.

The Lady Tigers won the 4×100-meter relay. Team members are Chevy McGowan, Hubbard, Ziva Falder and Middleton-Mobley.

Kyndle Mahaffey claimed the 100-meter wheelchair dash in 31.06 seconds.

Caldwell is getting ready for the Class A regional meet at Murray High School, which is now set for Wednesday afternoon.
