University Heights will move on to the 8th District championship game after beating Fort Campbell in the semifinals with a very high score of 22-12.

Offense was the name of the game for the evening, but not in the way that one might expect. Fort Campbell drew 14 total walks, while UHA drew 22.

There were also a total of six players that were hit by a pitch over the course of the game.

There were only nine total hits in the game, but every one of them resulted in a run for the team that got the hit.

Fort Campbell went up 11-9 in the top of the fourth inning thanks to a passed ball, but that was the last run they were able to score for a while.

The Lady Rebels were then able to score five unanswered runs until Fort Campbell was finally able to stop the bleeding with yet another run scored from a passed ball.

Despite having a 14-12 lead going into the bottom of the fifth inning, UHA was able to score eight runs that were capped off by a single from Katherine Wood to force the mercy.

The Lady Rebels will take on the Lady Colonels of Christian County, who beat them in last year’s 8th District championship game with a score of 15-0.
