A former Hopkinsville Tiger has picked up a postseason honor for his efforts during his freshman baseball season in college. The Horizon League announced Tuesday that J.J. Thompson, a first-year player at Wright State University, had been named to the league’s All-Freshman team.
Thompson, who graduated from Hopkinsville after starting his high school career at Heritage Christian, made 21 relief appearances during the regular season. He has a 2–0 record with 35.0 innings pitched and 27 strikeouts.
Thompson and the Raiders begin their postseason play Thursday in the Horizon League tournament.
