Caldwell County’s Ella Johnson will open play at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association State Tennis Tournament on Tuesday against one of the top players from northern Kentucky. The Caldwell County sophomore will play Cooper’s Kayla Johnson Tuesday morning at 8 o’clock at the University of Kentucky.
Johnson advanced to the semi-finals of the region tournament last week at Henderson County. Johnson comes into the state tournament seeded 9 to 16 in the state. For Johnson, it’s her first trip to the state tournament.
