Lady Maroons’ Riley Sword Headed to Vol State (w/PHOTOS)

The top scorer for the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons’ basketball team in 2024-2025 will get the chance to continue her career on the collegiate level. During signing ceremonies at the high school Tuesday evening, Lady Maroon grad Riley Sword officially signed to attend Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tennessee.

Sword averaged 14.8 points per game to lead the Lady Maroons this past season. She also led the team in three-pointers made with 61.

She was tops in the team at the free throw line, knocking down better than 80 percent of her attempts.

Volunteer State is a member of the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association.

Sword becomes the second 2nd Region girls player to sign with Volunteer State over the past couple of weeks. Hopkinsville’s Lashanti Wilson has also signed with the Tennessee school.
