Wednesday night’s regional championship game had a special family connection to it for the Lyon County Lyons. It was the final game on the field at Lee S. Jones Park for both Eli Baker and his father/coach Ricky. Eli is taking his talents off to the college game, while Ricky is the new head girls basketball coach at Lyon County and is looking forward to watching Eli play college baseball for the next few springs.
After the Lyon County championship win, Eli spoke with YSE about winning the title and about winning it in his dad’s final game as coach.
