Mary Martinez put the wraps on a successful running career for Crittenden County by running a pair of races at her final Class 1A State Track and Field Meet on Thursday at the University of Kentucky.
The Lady Rocket ran the 1600 meters in 5:55 to place 16th.
She also finished 16th in the 3200-meter run in 13:12.65.
Martinez ran five seasons of track and field for Crittenden County, qualifying for the state meet in the 3200 meters as an eighth grader. She ran in five races at the state track and field meet.
She also ran in five state cross country meets in her career.
In addition to her athletic prowess, Martinez was one of three valedictorians for the Crittenden County High School Class of 2025.
