Falcons Finish in 11th Place at State Track Meet

The Fort Campbell Falcons finished in 11th place at Thursday’s Class 1A State Track and Field Meet at the University of Kentucky with three relay teams and two individuals earning a medal.

The 800-meter relay team of Samuel Atoubi, Eric Greene, Mateo Cerritos Gatto, and Aiden Ward equaled Fort Campbell’s best finish of the day with a third-place finish in a season-best time of 1:30.46. The same group finished seventh in the 400-meter relay in 44.41 seconds.

The 1600-meter relay team of Ward, Atoubi, Cerritos Gatto, and Andrew Bennett finished in third place in 3:31.62.

Atoubi reached the medal podium in the 110-meter hurdles with a sixth-place finish in a season-best time of 15.30 seconds.

Cerritos Gatto finished in seventh place in the 400-meter dash in 50.96 seconds.

The 3200-meter relay team of Ryker Kramer, Andrew Bennett, Levi Kruse, and Jayden Perry finished in seventh place in a season-best 8:33.20.

Andrew Bennett was 17th in the 800 meters in 2:09.20.

Leaf Dewitt came in 10th place in the high jump at 5-10 and was 18th place in the long jump at 18-8.5.

Aiden Ward was 24th in the 400-meter dash in 55.18 seconds.

As a team, Fort Campbell finished in 11th place with 21 points.
