Livingston Central junior Talon Sanchez made a pair of podium trips at the KHSAA Class 1A State Track and Field Meet on Thursday at the University of Kentucky.
Sanchez finished second in the 300-meter hurdles in 39.98 seconds, becoming the first Cardinal in program history to break the 40-second mark. The 1A state meet record is 38.37 seconds, set by Fort Campbell’s Khalil Maynard in 2013.
He was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a clocking of 15.22 seconds, just .11 seconds off his school record set a month ago at McCracken County.
His finishes gave Livingston Central 12 points, good for a 27th-place finish.
