UHA Bags Four Medals at State Track and Field Meet

University Heights Academy reached the medal podium in four events and just missed in two others at Thursday’s KHSAA Class 1A State Track and Field Meet in Lexington.

The 1600-meter relay team of Clayton Lester, Harlow Hampton, Griffin McCoy, and Logan Miller had UHA’s top finish of the day, getting nipped at the line by Louisville Collegiate to finish in second place in 3:27.25 and establishing a new school record.

The 800-meter relay team was made up of the same four runners and finished in sixth place in 1:32.06.

Griffin McCoy was seventh in the 200-meter dash in 22.57 seconds and eighth in the 100-meter dash in 11.20 seconds.

Cole Glover was 14th in the 1600 meters in 4:54.16

Clayton Lester was 20th in the 100 meters in 11.53 seconds.

The 3200-meter relay team of Zech Davis, Harlow Hampton, Cole Glover, and Graham Conrad just missed a medal with a ninth-place finish in 8:48.24.

Logan Miller was ninth in the 300-meter hurdles in 42.56 seconds and was 10th in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.82 seconds.

As a team, University Heights Academy scored 14 points to finish in 20th place.
