She is an important part of the Todd County Central Lady Rebel softball team but her accomplishments on the field are just a part of what makes senior Rylann Griggs one of our area student-athletes that is well deserving of being the latest Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’
Rylann is a standout in the classroom. She has been on the Principal’s List every nine weeks since her freshman year at Todd County Central. During her recently completed junior year, Rylann took all honors classes along with college classes.
She is currently at the top of her senior class, the Class of 2026 and has been an A-student throughout her educational career.
It was announced in April that Rylann would be among the students from across the state to participate in the Governor’s Scholars Program. The program strives to enhance Kentucky’s next generation of civic and economic leaders, providing academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts and sciences program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience.
Students in the Governor’s Scholars program must complete an application and compete with others from across the state. Those selected to participate attend the program free of charge.
Rylan is also involved in the Beta Club at Todd County Central. Beta is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America, which for more than 80 years, has prepared today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders. Beta’s goal is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
Through her strong academic performance, Rylann is involved in the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is an organization for high schoolers that promotes leadership, service, character, and scholarship. High school students in grades 9-12 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible to apply for membership into the National Honor Society. To be admitted, students must show academic commitment, leadership experience, and good character.
With her involvement in both Beta and the National Honor Society, Rylann is involved in several volunteer efforts. Those include being active in activities from Beta Buddies to car washes to tutoring at the elementary schools.
You will also find this outstanding young lady working with the Todd County Central Future Farmers of America. She has been selected as FFA Member of the Month and she has her FFA Chapter and Greenhand degree.
Rylann is an active church member and has been involved in church activities in ways that include being a vacation bible school leader or putting our eggs for the church easter egg hunt.
As for her future plans, there is that senior year of high school ahead and then she plans to go into nursing.
Another example of the outstanding youth in our area and the outstanding things they are accomplishing in their young lives. All a part of what makes Rylann Griggs another great Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’
