Teal Makes First State Medal Podium Trip for Hoptown

Hopkinsville had one athlete reach the medal podium at Friday’s Class 2A State Track and Field Championship at the University of Kentucky.

Keyshun Teal took home his first state meet medal with a seventh-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.87 seconds. He also placed 11th in the 300-meter hurdles in 42.60 seconds, just .38 seconds from a second medal.

Savior Davis came in 18th place in the 800 meters in 2:28.19.

Elijah Reid finished in 20th place in the 110-meter hurdles in 19.03 seconds.

The 3200-meter relay team of Tyson Cavinder, Carlo Jones, Savior Davis, and LaMareon Jeffers came in 11th place in 9:06.06.

The 800-meter relay team of Keyshun Teal, James Bradley Jr., Treston Kay, and Jaylen Ray came in 16th place in 1:36.65.

The 400-meter relay team of Treston Kay, Keyshun Teal, Willie Ennels, and James Bradley Jr. finished in 18th place in 45.81 seconds.
