Madisonville Miners’ Pitchers Shine in Win vs. Paducah Chiefs on OVL Opening Night

The Madisonville Miners faced off against the Paducah Chiefs on opening night of the Ohio Valley League 2025 season, and the pitching was on full display.

Madisonville’s pitching staff ended the game with a total of 15 strikeouts, while allowing just two hits and six hits. This helped to lead the team to a 13-5 win in their first game of the season.

As for the offense, the Miners had 13 hits to get their 13 runs. The first hit of the season came from a triple in the top of the third inning from Clifford Wysinger II, who was one of five players for the Miners who finished with multiple hits.

The game was tied in the bottom of the third inning, but then the Miners were able to score six unanswered runs, with the streak ending in the bottom of the sixth when the Chiefs finally got their fourth run off of a home run.

Madisonville will be looking to start a win streak in their next game on Sunday, June 1, against the Hoptown Hoppers. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
