Kiley Demoss and Caroline Lovvorn did something no other Madisonville-North Hopkins tennis entry had done at the girls’ state tournament — advance to the semifinals.
The duo overcame slow starts each match until the semifinals, when they lost to the eventual state champions from Greenwood 6-1, 6-3.
Rain forced all of their matches indoors at the University of Kentucky, where they won three matches on Wednesday. They took time to discuss their play last week as they get ready for the team tournament this week in Lexington.
