Emma Tagg and Albany Ray won a first-round match at the KHSAA State Tennis Tournament before being ousted by the eventual state semifinalists on the second day.
It was an unusual 24 hours for the Madisonville-North Hopkins seniors, who saw their first-round match moved indoors due to rainy weather. It was played on a court next to an often-heated men’s senior league match. The next day, they played a match on center court at the University of Kentucky, one of the few to be played outdoors due to the weather.
The duo discussed their state tournament run as they prepare for the team tournament this week in Lexington.
