It was guaranteed that some Lady Maroons were going to win, but for Madisonville-North Hopkins, it was the wrong group. The high school tennis season came to an end for the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons Tuesday morning in Lexington. The Lady Maroons lost their opening round match against Pulaski County 3-1 in the KHSAA Girls’ Team Tennis State Tournament.
The Lady Maroons won the #1 singles match with Kiley DeMoss but Pulaski County then secured the next three wins in #2 singles, #3 singles, and the #2 doubles match to take the best of five overall team match.
For Madisonville, Macey Browning and Caroline Lovvorn also played singles. The doubles pairings for the day were Emma Tagg/Albany Ray and Addyson Raymer/Danyel Reynolds.
Pulaski County moves on to the state quarterfinals to face DuPont Manual.
