Owner of Christian County’s school record in the discus throw, Christopher McCarley can now add an All-State honor to his trophy case.

McCarley was named Second-Team All-State in the discus throw on Wednesday by the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Christopher McCarley threw a 157-04 in the discus throw to finish in fourth place, topping his distance thrown at the region meet by 14 feet. The senior set the school record earlier this year at Mayfield with a heave of 161-3. Last Saturday’s distance at state ranks as the second-best in school history.

McCarley owns the top seven distances for Christian County in the event and nine of the top ten. He also holds the school record in the shot put.
