Madisonville-North Hopkins’ graduate Trashaun Smith put the caps on his stand-out athletic career with a pair of All-State honors from the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Smith earned First-Team All-State honors in both the high jump and triple jump, where he finished in second place at the Class 3A State Track and Field Meet.

Smith won three first-place medals at the Region 1 Meet and shattered a 39-year-old meet record in the triple jump. Smith owns the four top triple jumps in program history and the top three long jump distances. His 2024 jump of 6-8 in the high jump is just two inches off the school record set by Jon Hood in 2009.

Last year, Smith won the state title in both the triple jump and the high jump, becoming the first Madisonville-North Hopkins athlete to win two state championships.
