Just when you think there is no possible way that coach Mark Pope could endear himself to Kentucky basketball fans any more than he already has, he finds a way to do just that.
Saturday at his Father/Son Camp at Memorial Coliseum he did just that.
Vaughtsviews.com photographer Victoria Graff was taking photos at the camp when she said Pope noticed one camper was wearing RED SOCKS. Graff said the youngster had on his camp shirt with a blue shirt underneath it but that was not going to appease Pope.
Pope sent a staff member to find white socks and Graff said he had Brandon Garrison give them to the young camper.
“I see red in this gym and it makes me truly uncomfortable. I’ve got a socks issue right here. I love you, but I’ve got a real socks issue. BG, can you take care of this, please? Will you please change those socks, is that okay? Take those socks off, please!” Pope told the camper.
Graff said the move was popular with campers — and UK players helping Pope at the camp.
Enjoy all these photos Graff got during the allowed media time at the camp.

I seen Reece Potter standing next to JQ and they looked about the same height. So either JQ is taller than advertised or Potter is really about 6’11. I don’t see how JQ even sees to play basketball. His face hides behind his hair. I like the decision by Oweh and Mo-D to cut all there hair off. I don’t see how guys play with 2 pounds of hair on there head. I know Oweh says he feels much better. It looks much better more presentable. Oweh is smart he wants to look professional. Thing is probably half of the NBA sports that haircut. I couldn’t imagine playing basketball with long hair it seems like it would be a little distraction. JQ seemed to thrive with his hair like that so he probably is used to it by now.
