Madisonville Miners Lose in Heartbreaking Fashion to Fulton Railroaders

The Madisonville Miners had a lead on the Fulton Railroaders going into the bottom of the ninth inning, but they were not able to seal the deal and keep Fulton from scoring.

A walk and a quick home run to start the inning tied the game at nine runs apiece, then a double and a walk put runners on first and second with just one out. Then, a costly error from the Miners allowed the Railroaders to score the run from second, winning the game 10-9.

Alex Fisher made the start on the mound for Madisonville, and had a pretty solid outing. While he did allowe seven hits in the five innings he pitched, he only allowed three runs from those hits on his way to four strikeouts on the day.

As for the offense, the team finished with eight hits, five of them coming from two players. Coulter Hamilton and Noah Berning had two hits and three hits in the game, respectively.

The other three players that got hits in the game for the Miners were Pete Britton, Ian Cartwright, and Logan Bailey, the last of which had two runs batted in.

The Miners will be looking to shrug off this heartbreaking loss in their next game on Monday, June 9, against the Full Count Rhythm. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Madisonville City Park.
