
Former Madisonville-North Hopkins All-State player and record holder Mallory Peyton Cook will be part of the latest class of the Kentucky Prep Softball Hall of Fame.
Cook ranks second in state history with 70 career home runs in her time at Madisonville, which included three straight state tournament trips.
She was named the region player of the year in 2016 after hitting .512 with 62 hits and 18 home runs.
In 2015, Cook smacked 16 round-trippers as Madisonville set a state record with 63 home runs.
She followed her high school career with a solid stay at the University of Kentucky, where she batted .285 with 43 home runs and 152 RBI.
Joining Cook in this year’s HOF class are Lindsey Carroll Perkins of McCracken County and Katie Gardner of Warren East.
The trio will be inducted during the East-West All-Star Weekend June 20-22, in Bowling Green.
