Madisonville Miners Fall to Henderson Flash 9-7

A five-run fourth inning broke a 3-3 deadlock and sent the Henderson Flash past the Madisonville Miners 9-7 Wednesday night in Ohio Valley League action.

The Miners outhit the Flash 12-10 at Park Field, but Henderson got two home runs from Hayden Jones to pull out the win.

The Flash is now 6-3, just a half-game behind the Full Count Rhythm at the top of the OVL standings. Full Count is 7-3 after bowing to the Paducah Chiefs 2-1 on Wednesday.

Madisonville is now 5-4 — tied with Paducah for third place.

Jones finished the night 3-for-4 with four runs batted in for Henderson.

Jones had a two-run shot to center as part of the big fourth inning. He added a solo homer to center in the sixth. Jones doubled home a run in the first inning.

Aidan Mouton, Drew Isenberg and Braden Gabel each had two hits for Henderson.

Coulter Hamilton led Madisonville with a 4-for-5 night. Cliff Wysinger and Sean O’Brien each had two base hits.

Alex Brew went the first six innings on the mound for Henderson to earn the win. He allowed just one earned run on eight hits. Colin Wolfe went the final three innings to earn the save.

Henderson will next host Hoptown Thursday in a game that will be played at historic Bosse Field in Evansville.

Madisonville travels to Paducah on Thursday.
