Lyon County has turned to Tony Belt to lead its baseball program following the resignation of Ricky Baker as head coach.
Belt has been an assistant coach for the past four seasons, primarily handling pitching duties. He has also coached a travel team that had several Lyon County players on the roster.
Baker resigned after seven seasons as head coach. The Lyons won 145 games in six seasons on the field as the 2020 season was lost due to the pandemic. Lyon County won the All A Classic state championship this spring and advanced to the All A championship game last year. The Lyons also won a pair of Second Region titles in Baker’s tenure.
