Henderson County, which followed up a state championship run in 2024 with a state runner-up finish on Saturday, had two players earn All-State honors from the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association.

Anna Kemp was named Class 3A First-Team All-State after a 22-4 campaign in the circle that saw her notch her 200th strikeout of the season in the state championship. At the plate, shit hit .322 with four homers and 34 RBI.

For her career, the University of Southern Indiana signee recorded an ERA under two over her final four seasons. She finished 91-14 with 839 strikeouts and a career ERA of 1.71.

Junior Ayden Bennett was named Class 3A Second-Team All-State after leading the Lady Colonels with a .504 batting average with 44 stolen bases, and 35 RBI.

While softball is not a classed sport in Kentucky, the state’s coaches use the three-class enrollment numbers from track and field to determine its All-State honors. Voting is conducted by members of the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association.

They will be recognized at next weekend’s East West Weekend in Bowling Green.
