Mackenzie Stoltz was named Class 3A All-State Honorable Mention by the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association.
The University of Missouri-St. Louis signee batted .442 with 17 home runs and 49 RBI at the plate and was 12-6 in the circle with 199 strikeouts in 118 innings pitched. Her ERA was 2.25.
Incredibly, her 17 homers are tied for the fifth most in a season in school history, but sixth most in Second Region history. Only Kaylee Tow (three times), Mallory Peyton (twice), and Griffin Joiner of Christian County hit more single-season homers than Stoltz.
It was the culmination of an outstanding career as a Lady Maroon. She racked up 192 hits as part of a .412 batting average. She hit 34 home runs and drove in 152 runs.
In the circle, she won 50 games, struck out 646 batters, and maintained a 2.84 ERA.
While softball is not a classed sport in Kentucky, the state’s coaches use the three-class enrollment numbers from track and field to determine its All-State honors. Voting is conducted by members of the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association.
