Trigg County’s record-setting season, which saw the team win its first fastpitch district championship, has netted All-State honors for a pair of players.
Tember Oliver was named Class 2A First Team All-State by the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association. She was 20-10 in the circle with a 1.75 ERA and two saves. She struck out 168 batters in 184 innings.
In her three-year career, the sophomore is 46-29 with 431 strikeouts and a 2.09 ERA.
Kady Fuller was named Class 2A Second-Team All-State after setting a Trigg County single-season and career home run record. Fuller hit 11 homers as a sophomore, hit .416, and drove in 33 runs.
In three years, Fuller has hit 19 home runs, knocked in 83 runs, and has a .366 batting average.
While softball is not a classed sport in Kentucky, the state’s coaches use the three-class enrollment numbers from track and field to determine its All-State honors. Voting is conducted by members of the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association.
They will be recognized at next weekend’s East West Weekend in Bowling Green.
