Madisonville Miners Rally Past Paducah to End Losing Skid

The Madisonville Miners dug themselves out of a six-game losing skid on Thursday with a 9-4 win at Paducah.

The homestanding Chiefs held a 4-0 lead through four innings in the Ohio Valley League matchup at Brooks Stadium, but Madisonville scored nine unanswered runs over the final five innings.

The Miners (6-7) scored three runs in the top of the fifth to get close, then took the lead with four in the eighth. Madisonville tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the ninth.

Paducah (6-7) scored twice in the second and added two more runs in the fourth to grab the early lead.

Noah Berning homered and finished 2-for-5 with three runs batted in for Madisonville. Coulter Hamilton went 3-for-5 and drove in four while Pete Britton was also 3-for-5. Justin Early was 2-for-5.

Jackson Grissom, the second of three Madisonville hurlers, picked up the win on the mound. He blanked Paducah over four innings while allowing just two base hits.

Brayden Baker was 2-for-4 at the plate for the Chiefs while TK Madera was 2-for-5.

Madisonville heads to Hopkinsville on Friday while Paducah plays host to Fulton.
