The Madisonville Miners lost their last their game to the Hoptown Hoppers, so they went into their matchup against the Fulton Railroaders on Saturday evening looking to get back on track. But they were not able to do that.
Nick Arnett made the start on the mound for the Railroaders, and was able to pitch four innings and get five strikeouts while allowing just one hit and one run. He was one of the keys in Fulton being able to grab the close 7-6 win.
As for the Miners, Sellers Neuendorf also pitched four innings in his start. While he allowed four hits, he also only allowed one run on his way to five strikeouts of his own.
Five of Madisonville’s six runs came from a pair of home runs from Cliff Wysinger, one of them being in the top of the first inning, the other coming in the top of the fifth in the form of a grand slam. The team’s other run came from yet another big fly, this time from Wyatt Burris.
The team’s other hit came from Justin Early in the form of a double in the top of the fifth inning.
The Miners have now lost their last two games, which is a trend they will be looking to end in their next game on Sunday, June 22, against the Full Count Rhythm. First pitch is scheduled for Madisonville City Park.
