The Madisonville Miners found themselves losing 5-0 in their matchup on Saturday evening against the Full Count Rhythm. They were able to fight their way back, but they ultimately came up just short.
Logan Harrell made the start on the mound for the Rhythm and was able pitch five innings. He allowed just one hit on his way to racking up eight strikeouts, which was the key in them being able to grab an 8-7 win.
As for the Miners, Jackson Grissom started, but was only able to pitch four innings, as he allowed six hits and five runs.
Madisonville found themselves down five runs after five innings, so they had a lot of work to do. Their first run came on a single from Wyatt Burris, which was followed quickly by Logan Bailey and Pete Britton both being hit by pitches with the bases loaded.
The Miners were then able to take the lead with a four-run seventh inning, which was started by a walk with the bases loaded by Dylan Toler. A sacrifice from Britton then tied the game at five runs apiece, and a two-run single from Bailey gave the team the lead.
However, it was not enough, as the Rhythm were able to score one run in the seventh inning, as well as take the lead in the eighth inning with two runs. And that was enough to get the win.
The Miners have lost their last four games, which is a trend they will be looking to end in their next game against the Henderson Flash on Monday, June 30. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. from Park Field in Henderson, KY.
