Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A’ – Fort Campbell’s Avaley Moore

She is a three-sport athlete at Fort Campbell High School and she is in the running for a prestigious national award for that recognizes outstanding youth connected to the military through their parents’ service to their country. That and so much more is what makes Fort Campbell’s Avaley Moore beyond well-deserving of being a Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’

On the field, and, on the mat, Avaley has been a part of the Lady Falcon soccer, softball, and girls’ wrestling teams. Being a three-sport athlete is usually more than enough to keep a young person quite busy. But, somehow, she finds time to be a big part of her school community and the military community at Fort Campbell.

She was a team captain in both soccer and softball this past year. Additionally, on the softball field, Avaley led the team in triples, home runs, stolen bases, and batting average last season.

To give you a first look at just how outstanding a young lady she is, Avaley just won the Midwest Military Youth of the Year competition and now moves on to the National Military Youth of the Year competition coming up in August in Washington, DC. The Military Youth of the Year competition, a component of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Youth of the Year program, recognizes outstanding military-connected youth between the ages of 14-18, who are part of families serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. for their leadership, service, academic achievements, and commitment to their communities.

She is a member of the Blue Star Families and through that oversees four Little Free Libraries on post and coordinates book drives. Blue Star Families is a non-profit organization that supports and connects military families with their communities. It was founded in 2009 by military spouses to build strong communities of support for military families. They aim to help these families thrive by connecting them with resources, programs, and their civilian neighbors.

Avaley is involved with the Joint Service Teen Council. The JSTC is a group of high-achieving youth representing each branch of the U.S. military, aiming to address issues affecting military-connected youth worldwide. Established by the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the JSTC brings these young leaders together to identify challenges and propose solutions to senior military leaders.

Along that same line, she serves as a Youth Leadership Forum Delegate. Avaley is one of three students selected from each U.S. Garrison to develop and present improvement plans to Pentagon stakeholders.

Somehow in the midst of all of this, she also finds time to volunteer by helping to plan dances, “fun days,” and reading sessions for on-post elementary school.

Through her efforts, Avaley, who will be a junior this fall, will receive the Most Community Service Award this year—in recognition of more than 400 service hours logged across her campus and military community.

Not only is she involved in the overall Fort Campbell community, Avaley is active at school as well. Her leadership and campus involvement include being an AVID Scholar for six years and being elected AVID President for three consecutive years.

She serves as a student liaison, hosting and orienting prospective students, community delegations, and visiting French students—designing and leading full campus/post tours.

Avaley is also active in the History Club, Speech & Debate, and is a S2S Member, contributing to academic discussions, competitive speaking events, and peer mentorship programs.

By the way, she also owns it in the classroom. Avaley is pursuing Capstone and Honors diplomas alongside an Associate degree in University Studies.

As for the future, Avaley aspires to teach high school history—driven by a lifelong passion for both History and English.

Fort Campbell’s Avaley Moore is one very special young lady, and one well-deserving of being recognized as a Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’ And, we want to wish her the very best as she competes for the National Military Youth of the Year honor in August.
