Emma Vandiver’s goal proved to be all that Hopkins County Central would need to beat both North Hardin and the weather on Friday at the Bluegrass State Games in Lexington.
The teams endured a 70-minute lightning delay after 12 minutes of first-half action, and the second half was shortened and eventually ended with another lightning delay at Masterson Station Park.
Vandiver’s goal proved to be all the Lady Storm needed.
Hopkins County Central will return to action on Saturday at the Woodford County Youth Complex at 11:00 am against Johnson Central and at 5:00 p.m. against Mason County.
