Hopkinsville soccer coach Jeff Addison is a veteran of the Bluegrass State Games and knows the three scrimmages can be handy in analyzing his team, especially with a boost in numbers this season.
The Lady Tigers opened play with a 6-0 loss to Henry Clay, with the Blue Devils scoring three goals in each half. Two of Henry Clay’s first-half goals came on headers in front.
Hoptown’s second game on Saturday at the cram-packed Woodford County Youth Complex was a 3-0 loss to Bishop Brossart, but left Addison feeling better.
“We played much better against a solid Bishop Brossart squad,” he said.
Hopkinsville closes out play at the Bluegrass State Games on Sunday against Louisville Holy Cross.
