Todd County Central continued its preparation for the 2025 soccer season with three wins over the weekend at the Bluegrass State Soccer Games in Lexington.
The Rebels opened with a 3-1 win over Scott High Saturday morning at Masterson Station Park. John Ross Cardwell scored the Rebels’ first goal, which was followed by a tally by Spencer Pool.
Holding on to a 2-1 lead in the second half, Pool cleaned up a loose ball in front of the net for his second goal and some needed insurance that proved to be the final margin.
Later Saturday, the Rebels won a 2-0 contest over Gallatin County, shortened to 47 minutes due to rain. Cardwell scored on a penalty kick in the first half, and Evan Stokes added a goal in the second half.
On Sunday, Todd Central closed out play with a 2-1 win over Pendleton County. Cardwell and Samuel Perez-Camillo had the goals for the Rebels.
Goalie John Mark Campbell and the Rebel defense allowed just two goals in three games.
Todd County Central will host Lyon County in a scrimmage in Elkton on August 5.
