It’s still just the preseason, but the Caldwell County Tiger football team had a solid night in its own 7-on-7 competition Tuesday night at Tiger Stadium.
Caldwell went 3-0 in varsity action and also picked up a junior varsity win over Madisonville-North Hopkins.
For the varsity Tigers, they started the event with a one-point win over Nelson County.
They then defeated Calloway County by eight points before finishing the night with a victory over Christian County.
Madisonville also went 3-0 in varsity, with the Maroons’ only loss being the JV contest against Caldwell.
Christian County turned in a 3-1 showing.
The Tigers, Colonels and Maroons will all be on the same field again on Thursday when Madisonville hosts 7-on-7 action. Ohio County will join Caldwell, Christian and Madisonville for the four-team get-together.
Looking ahead, Caldwell will play its first preseason scrimmage with blocking and tackling Aug. 8 at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green.
The regular season opens Aug. 22 with a trip to Hopkins County Central.
