
YourSportsEdge.com hosted its eighth annual Fan Faves reception on Wednesday at the WKDZ/WHVO studios, recognizing nearly 50 athletes and two teams.
The 2024-25 ballot was the largest, with 25 categories that featured athletes and teams from the 12 primary schools covered by YourSportsEdge.com.
This year’s ballot was sponsored by Toyota of Hopkinsville and Patriot Chevrolet.
Here is how the voting finished in each category.
FOOTBALL – Trigg County’s Davaree Gude became the third consecutive Wildcat to win the football category. Christian County’s Josh Bridges was the runner-up, the third straight Colonel to finish second in the voting.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY – Trigg County’s Brody Renfroe took first place for the second straight year. Heritage Christian Academy’s Aaron Hensley was the runner-up, joining Cadyn Travis last year as Warriors to finish second in the voting.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY – Trigg County’s Allayah Hargrove (winner) and Christian County’s Taylor Morris (runner-up) were first-time Fan Faves recipients.
BOYS GOLF – Trigg County’s Haydon Reynolds joined his brother Hunter (2020) as Fan Faves winners. Cal Givens of University Heights Academy was the runner-up.
GIRLS GOLF – Emma Dowell of Trigg County won a third consecutive Fan Faves plaque, becoming the first golfer to win three straight. Hopkinsville’s Cate Blane was runner-up and took home her first Fan Faves award.
VOLLEYBALL – After a runner-up finish in 2024, Skylar Kirby took first place in 2025. She is the fourth straight Lady Colonel to win the award, joining Rylee Owens from 2022-24. Olivia Oakley of University Heights Academy was the runner-up.
BOYS SOCCER – Hayden Hunt is the third straight University Heights Academy Lady Blazer to win the Fan Faves award, joining Preston Thomas (2023) and Clayton Lester (2024). Trigg County’s James Garnett was the runner-up.
GIRLS SOCCER – Leiah Hite won the Fan Faves Award, two years after her sister Lania won it in back-to-back years (2022-23). In addition to her sister, other Trigg players to win in the category were Olivia Noffsinger (2021) and Alyssa Richardson (2018). Hopkinsville’s Kaylyn Lynch was the runner-up, joining Grace Cansler (2024) and Abby Moss (2021) as second-place winners from Hopkinsville.
BOYS BASKETBALL – This category featured the state’s second and third leading scorers in the state of Kentucky as Jason Leek (Heritage Christian Academy) and Tylin George (University Heights Academy) went 1-2 in the voting. Leek is the first HCA winner in the category since Carlos Robles in 2021.
GIRLS BASKETBALL – Anaysia Bagwell is the closest thing to a dynasty in the Fan Faves voting. The Christian County Lady Colonel has won four times in five years with a runner-up finish last year on her resume. She is the first athlete to win the Fan Faves four times. Trigg County’s Reese Bush, who was the runner-up in cross country as an eighth grader, was this year’s second-place vote getter. Her siblings Tyson and Rylee also took home Fan Faves hardware.
BOYS WRESTLING – Trigg County’s Cooper Adams is the first Wildcat to win the Fan Faves since Colin Stevens in 2020. Christian County’s Tay Martinez was the runner-up.
GIRLS WRESTLING – 2025 marked the second straight year girls’ wrestling was featured on the ballot. Trigg County swept the category with Gracee Lingenfelter winning and Kambrie Whitlock taking second place.
BOYS ARCHERY – This category featured the first three-way tie in Fan Faves history. Caleb Luttrull (Christian County), Ethan Terrell (Trigg County), and Sam Pierce (Hopkins County Central) tied for first place in the voting.
GIRLS ARCHERY – Mackenzie Cooper is the second straight Trigg County winner (Kerra Johnson in 2024) and the fourth overall (Audie Smith in 2019 and Kaylin Smith in 2018).
BOYS SWIMMING – Alex Ray joined Pierce as the first Hopkins County Central athletes to win the Fan Faves. Christian County’s Shemar Barker was the runner-up.
GIRLS SWIMMING – Hopkinsville’s Grace Cansler repeated as the swimming Fan Fave. It’s her third award as she was runner-up in girls soccer last year. Christian County’s Addison Peck was the runner-up.
BOWLING – The bowling category has been on the books for three years, and Christian County’s Aiden Lewis has won each year. Caldwell County’s Chase Lantrip was the runner-up, his first Fan Faves award.
CHEERLEADING – This is the only team category for the Fan Faves. Trigg County won for the second time in three years, while Hopkinsville was the runner-up – their first award in the voting.
BASEBALL – Trigg County’s Aidon Butts joined his brother Arlon (2019) as a Fan Faves winner. Hayden Hunt of University Heights Academy was the runner-up. Hunt was the only athlete to win two awards this season.
SOFTBALL – Kady Fuller of Trigg County joins Karlee Crick (Christian County) and Hannah Colbert (Trigg County) as back-to-back winners in the category. Avery Adcock was the runner-up for a second straight year as a Christian County Lady Colonel has finished in second place seven of the last eight years.
BOYS TRACK AND FIELD – After a runner-up finish in 2023, University Heights Academy’s Griffin McCoy took first place in the voting this year. Deacon Dever was the runner-up, the first Dawson Springs athlete to finish in the top two in the Fan Faves voting.
GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD – Alicia McGee became the first Trigg County athlete since Trinity Cavanaugh in 2019 to finish in first place. Caldwell County’s Kyndle Mahaffey was the runner-up.
BOYS TENNIS – Stephen Whitecotton became the first Heritage Christian Academy player to win in the category. Hopkins County Central’s Cohl Hoard was the Fan Faves runner-up.
GIRLS TENNIS – Chiani Leak is the fifth Hopkinsville player to win the Fan Faves voting in the category, joining Ella Lester (2021-22), Greer Givens (2020), and Riley Fort (2019). University Heights Academy’s Stella del Valle was the runner-up.
FISHING – A Trigg County angler has either won or tied for first place in the category for the past eight years. Chase Hampton was voted the winner, while Braxton Hargrove was the runner-up.
