After a tough start to his day, Todd County Central’s Noah Rager finished strong to pick up a top 20 finish. Rager was one of two Rebel golfers competing in the SOKY Shootout at the Crosswinds Golf Course in Bowling Green.
Rager opened his round with a 5-over par 41 on the front nine. A triple bogey on the third hole put Rager in the position of having to work his way back up on a hot morning in Warren County.
He rebounded to shoot a 1-over par 37 on the back side to give him a 6-over par 78 for the day. That score gave Rager a tie for 18th place with Lane Temple, of Allen County-Scottsville, Reed Decker, of Cumberland County, and Kruz Tucker, of Metcalfe County.
Rowdy Harris, of Bowling Green, took medalist honors for the event with a 3-under par 69. Harris was the only player to finish under par for the day. Four players tied for second place with rounds of even par 72.
Todd County Central’s Weston Strader also played in the event and finished in a tie for 80th place.
