Likely the only thing that kept the McCracken County Lady Mustangs from making it back-to-back trips to the state soccer tournament last fall was a one-goal loss to Marshall County in the 1st Region girls soccer semifinals. Thursday evening, the Lady Mustangs looked like a team that had that loss fresh in their memory still.
McCracken County scored two goals in the first 10 minutes and cruised to a 6-0 scrimmage win over the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm in Mortons Gap.
The Lady Mustangs scored three goals in each half while defensively limiting the Lady Storm to just three shots on goal for the night.
Junior Maddy Ledgerwood had a hat trick to lead the Lady Mustangs.
Hopkins County Central goalie Savannah Barnett was under fire most of the match as the Lady Mustangs kept their offense pushing forward. She finished the night with 8 saves for the Lady Storm.
