Jake Witherspoon and Treyson Raymer continued their solid starts to the 2025 golf season Thursday afternoon. The two shot the low scores of the day for the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons golf team in leading the team to a top three finish at the Muhlenberg County Invitational at the Central City Country Club.
Witherspoon shot a 36 on the front nine, followed by a 37 on the back, to finish his day with a 73. Raymer shot 37-37 to end up one shot back of Witherspoon with a 74.
Evan Hack, of McCracken County, took 1st place with a round of 69. C.J. Campbell, of Bullitt East, was two shots back in second place with a 71.
As a team, the Maroons finished the day with a 305, good enough for third place. McCracken County took the team title with a 287. Bullitt East finished in second place with a 300.
