Cooper Collins led the way for the Lyon County Lyons Saturdaay as a busy week in high school golf in Western Kentucky capped off in Ballard County at the Ballard Memorial Invitational at the Ballard County Country Club.
Collins finished his round with a 79 to lead the Lyon County effort. That was two shots better than his brother Carson, who ended with an 81.
Ryan Stokes, of Marshall County, and Landon Hunt, of McCracken County, each shot 67 to tie for 1st place. Stokes took medalist honors by winning the tiebreaker. Maddax O’Guinn, of Graves County, finished third with a round of 72.
In the team competition, Lyon County finished the day with a team score of 334.
McCracken County stayed hot, taking 1st place with a team score of 287. Marshall County finished 5 shots back with a team 292.
